As the festivities fade, we wanted to share how Heavner Canoe / Kayak Rental helped celebrate by providing Memorial Day shuttle services for the Milford Parade.
“It was an honor to shuttle a busload of the highest ranking military officials that were here today and to shake their hands personally and thank them for their service,” said Alan Heavner, most emphatically!
Many of the veterans needed to be driven back from the parade which is a mile away from the starting point. So, Heavners participated in the parade, with a big banner on the side of the shuttle van.
“Such an honor it was to ride to town and have thousands of people there cheering and being happy that the veterans were there today. We had 2 or 3 plane fly-overs, in memory of Veterans Day!”
“The real highlight of the whole event was the ceremony around the Veterans Memorial after the parade. As always happens when they played the final song for the ceremony, God Bless the USA — not a dry eye in the place, lyrics that speak of the strength that we feel toward our country. No negativity anywhere, just emotional support for the military in our country! What a proud day!”
